Classic Lash Extension Aftercare: Keep Your Lashes Looking Flawless

Classic Lash Extension Aftercare: Keep Your Lashes Looking Flawless

Congratulations on your beautiful new set of classic lash extensions! Choosing a certified, highly trained lash artist is the first step to effortless beauty—and now, you get to enjoy waking up every day with a touch of instant glamour.
To help you keep your lashes looking their absolute best, here’s a clear, expert-backed guide to aftercare. With the right routine, your extensions will remain comfortable, beautiful, and long-lasting.

The First 24 Hours: Protect Your Investment

  • Keep Lashes Dry: Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 24 hours following your appointment. (If your artist used a specific adhesive, ask for their recommendation.)
  • If They Get Wet: Gently pat dry—never rub. Rubbing can cause premature lash loss and impact your next fill.

Ongoing Lash Extension Care

  • Avoid Eye Makeup: Skip eyeliner and mascara near your extensions. These products can compromise the adhesive and cause buildup.
  • No Oil-Based Products: Avoid makeup removers and cleansers with oil, as oil breaks down the lash bond. I’m happy to recommend a safe, gentle lash cleanser for your daily routine.
  • Limit Heat Exposure: Steer clear of saunas, hot tubs, and direct heat from ovens or stoves. Excess heat can weaken the adhesive.
  • Skip Mascara: Your extensions provide all the volume you need! Mascara can clump and weaken bonds, making fills more difficult.
  • Hands Off: Avoid rubbing, pulling, or picking at your lashes—this can damage both extensions and your natural lashes.
  • Sleep Smart: Try not to sleep on your face. Consider a cupped sleep mask to help protect your lashes overnight.
  • Clean & Brush Daily: Gently cleanse your lashes every day to remove makeup and debris. Brush with a clean spoolie to keep them neat and separated. (Remember to clean your spoolie regularly.)

Maintaining Your Lash Look

  • Gentle Care: Pat your lashes dry after cleansing, and avoid any harsh movements.
  • Routine Maintenance: Regular fills and proper aftercare extend the life and beauty of your lashes.
  • Professional Products: Ask about recommended cleansers and tools to keep your lashes and eyes healthy.

OK! lets talk SPLIT ENDS!!!
Split ends start within 6 to 8 weeks!!

If the hair is not cut by 8 weeks, This is what is happening at the bottom of the hair.

Fine hair will split in 6 weeks.
Medium hair will split in 7 weeks.
Coarse hair will split in 8 weeks.

This is why your stylist will recommend you do not go months without a hair cut. Ever seen someone with long hair but the ends looks thin and straggly, this is because part of the hair breaks off.

Want to let it grow??

Your hair grows about 1/2 inch per month. (take a look at your regrowth in a month next time you get a colour. that will show you how much you grew!!) If you come in at 7-8 weeks and we trim off a mere 1/4", (or a dusting even is good at the 5- 6 week mark) you still have gained 3/4 of hair! Add that up over a year and you will see that you are still gaining length while keeping your hair healthy!
