How long should you keep your make-up?? It can be hard to decide when to throw out that perfect colour of foundation or favourite shadow or lip gloss!!
When it's time to toss depends on many factors. including, type of make up, how and where it’s been stored, and if you’ve had an eye infection. Some make up shouldn’t be kept longer than 3 months, but you can hang on to others for a couple years.
The guidelines for when to discard make up are usually set out by people who work within the industry. The FDA and health Canada keeps an eye on cosmetics manufacturers, and provide some general advice.
For max life span from your make up, buy only unopened cosmetics. When you get it home, store them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Always close the lids tightly!!!
